JKPC Community Food Pantry
John Knox Community Food Pantry had its humble beginnings as a food closet started before 1982. In 1990, the ministry was expanded to become one of ten ACCESS (All County Churches Emergency Support System) key pantries. The pantry was assigned and still serves the southeast section of Kent County. Specifically, 28th Street south to 60th between US 131 and Patterson Ave. The pantry grew under the leadership of its first part-time director, Lois McDonald. The primary function of the pantry to provide screening and food for clients living in the assigned area.

We expanded our pantry activities by becoming a hub for the Citywide Food Drive (second Saturday in October) and a distribution site for Toys for Tots. JKCFP is the USDA commodities distribution site for the Kentwood and Wyoming Areas.

We are grateful to all the churches, organizations, businesses, and individuals who have supported us in the past and who continue to support. God bless you all!
