Letter From The Pastor…

Thank you for taking the time to peruse our web site. John Knox is a wonderful church and I am prayerful that the information you are looking for will be easily found at this site.

In my brief time as pastor of the church I found JKPC to be a very friendly church. Matter of fact a number of our newest members have said, “JK is the friendliest church I’ve ever visited…”. You can expect, should you visit us to be warmly welcomed in the love of Christ Jesus who is our Lord and Savior. You’ll find our 10am Sunday worship service traditionally structured, yet very relaxed. You can feel comfortable laughing, crying and clapping as the Holy Spirit moves you while worshipping with us. We work to offer a variety of special worship experiences which include Youth Group Liturgical Dance Teams, Sacred Ringers, Praise Team, Chancel Choir, as well as a host of special musicians, preachers and speakers.

Church life around JK is busy – but busy for the Lord Jesus. We have a very active and dynamic Preschool (please see the link for more information). Additionally we have a vibrant African fellowship know as Global Hosanna Fellowship which worships here at 11:30am every Sunday. As well JK serves our community through our Food pantry (opened Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 10:00am until 2:00pm). In addition there are a number of studies, classes, youth and adult fellowship events and prayer meetings (please see our calendar for more information).

John Knox is the proud and grateful home for a number of community groups too! Thresholds, Kentwood Women’s Club, Boy Scouts of America – Troop 331, and Cub Scouts – Pack 3336 meet here regularly as well as The Goodnews Network (Monday7 at 7:00 pm) and the Grand Rapids Scottish Society (1st Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm – September through May).

I speak for the entire congregation when I say that we do love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and strength, and we want to share that love with you as we build one another up in the Truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord!
